Membership Application

The Malaysian Society of Soil Science (MSSS) welcomes all soil scientists and enthusiasts to join our non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to promoting the study of soil science within agriculture and championing environmental stewardship.

Membership Categories & Fees:

  • Ordinary Membership: RM50/year – Open to all university graduates or diploma holders with proven experience who are engaged in the study of soil science
  • Associate Membership: RM50/year – Open to holders of diploma in Agriculture or Soil Science who have at least one year’s appropriate working experience; or those with seven years relevant working experience and having attended an acceptable course in soil science or related discipline.
  • Life Membership: RM400 (one-time) – Available to members who have been active for 5 consecutive years.
  • Entrance Fee: RM40 (one-time).

How to Apply

  1. Download the membership application form from the MSSS website or via the link below.
  2. Upload the completed form along with your payment receipt.
  3. Ensure your proposer and seconder are active MSSS members.
  4. If your application is not approved, your payment will be refunded.

Postgraduate Thesis Award

An Outstanding Postgraduate Thesis Award of RM 1,000 together with the certificate of Award will be made to recognize the work of a postgraduate's student who has graduated or anticipates graduating during the current academic year.

Who can apply?

Research scholars of MSc. or PhD who has successfully completed their theses which has shown exceptional contribution to the field of soil science in 2025 are eligible to apply.
